Exide organised its annual Reward & Recognition Award Program on 14th May 2018 for its employees.

As one of the official sponsors of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Exide employees had the privilege of interacting with KKR's coaching staff and players.

The KKR Team players shared their experiences and motivated employees through this Meet & Greet event.

The CC&FC Telegraph Cup Invitational Floodlit Six-A-Side Cricket Tournament 2018 was held at the Calcutta Cricket and Football Club between Tuesday 20th February 2018 and Sunday, 25th March 2018.

Exide won the Runners up position (Gold Plate) in this Corporate Cricket Competition. In addition to this, Exide also won a prestigious award for "Fair Play Team of the Tournament".

This major event is held annually with all Corporates of Kolkata participating in the tournament. Our Exide team competed with Major Corporates including Tata Steel, Titan, Godrej, HSBC and finally won the Semi Finals against Axis Bank.

Exide Industries Limited has launched the Exide Innovation Challenge - a business plan contest, open to bonafide students currently pursuing full time two year PGP/MBA program in selected Business Schools across India.

Responding to the Union government's call for corporate India's active participation in skills development initiative across the nation, Exide Industries Ltd has pledged support for the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme of the government of India.

During the current financial year, the company has committed to recruit a sizeable number of apprentices in its factories across the country. The total number of such apprentices who will join the company will constitute almost ten per cent of the permanent workforce of the company.

The award was received by Shamangar Team from Mr. Oscar Fernandes (Ex Union Cabinet Minister) & Dr. Ram Raj Rai - Director (Lok Sabha Parliament House) in an Award Ceremony held at Delhi.

The award recognises the initiative towards Excellence in Training Practices during the financial year 2016-17. Corporate which participated and received award in various categories are Essar Steel Ltd., J K Tyre, Reliance Infrastructure, Sasan Power Ltd., Cadila Healthcare Ltd. HPCL & Hindalco.

Team Exide won the CII-ITC Award 2016 for Commendable Achievement in SCM Sustainability. The award was given by Honourable Union Minister of HRD Mr. Prakash Javadekar and Mr. Sanjeev Puri (COO & ED, ITC Limited) on 5th December 2016 in Delhi.

The CII-ITC Sustainability Award is honoured to industries every year for their initiatives and achievements towards sustainability. The span of assessment process is 6 months, which includes application, evaluation and site assessment by team of assessors.

The corporates from different sectors that received awards in different categories include Maruti Suzuki, Ambuja Cement, Mahindra & Mahindra, Infosys, Axis Bank, Yes Bank, Tata Housing, Vedanta, HLL, Reliance, Essar Oil & Gas, Tata Power, Asian Paints & Dalmia.

Exide Industries has won the Golden Peacock Award for Excellence in Corporate Governance in 2016. At a glittering ceremony in London in October 2016, the award was received on behalf of Exide by Mr Jitendra Kumar, Company Secretary and Senior Vice President Legal and Mr Mohammad Tamim, General Manager TQM. The prestigious award is given by Institute Of Directors, India through a rigorous process and recognizes excellence in corporate governance and reporting. The Golden Peacock Award attracts 1000+ applications in various categories each year.

The other corporates which participated in this convention included SBI, IBM, Infosys, ONGC, Asian Paints, Caterpillar, Birla Carbon & Doha Bank etc.

The Award was presented by Dr. Goutam Sengupta, Chairman QCFI (Kolkata Chapter) during Annual Convention held at Hotel Taj. Bengal, Kolkata on 27th September 2016.
